Good read. Talks about the need to create a standard format for video games to expand the audience. Just like VHS, DVD, CD etc.
Gabecube will fix this and save gaming
GOTY 2025 list in no order
Blue Prince - like most rng based games, awesome when you have good luck. annoying when you don’t.
Hollow Knight 2 - dropped in act 3 because too many gauntlets
Donkey Kong Switch 2 - fun. actual goty.
Indiana Jones Golden Circle - climbing is slow. you have to unlock faster climbing. it’s .05% faster. didn’t finish.
Doom Dark Ages - gamepass expired before I played
Logic Pro Adventure - arcade picross game next to smoking area. possible cancer.
The Keisatsukan 2 Senkoku Tsuiseki Special - great except one boss that takes hostages and you have to headshot him and the cabinet sensors are broken. Last time a tourist family was mad at me for yelling “eat shit and die you fucking bitch” after each kill. Sorry for getting immersed playing as the lady cop.
#1 The 10 or so hours of Metroid Prime 4 I played
#2 The 5 rounds of Battlefield 6
#3 F-Zero GX on Nintendo Switch 2
#4 Mario Kart World
#5 The HALO arcade machine in Canada

GOTY 2025
1: Modded Doom 1/2
2: Modded Duke 3D
Spoiler: (click to show)(click to hide) 3: Dylan
Spoiler: (click to show)(click to hide) 4: Dylan
Spoiler: (click to show)(click to hide) 5: Dylan!
Spoiler: (click to show)(click to hide) I spits hot fiyah!
The only new game I played in 2025 was Balatro. Good game.
Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo is probably my 2025 GOTY.
Indie Zelda game with cool yoyo mechanics and GBA inspired art.
Haven't played Clair Obscure, Split Fiction and Kingdom Come 2 yet.
Silent Hill F, Hollow Knight Silksong and Donkey Kong Bananza were good.
Death Stranding 2, Ender Magnolia and Mario Kart World were okay.
Spoiler: (click to show)(click to hide) The original Silent Hill was the true GOTY. I love the cutscene where they are standing around Alessa's bed and one of the characters sounds like he was voiced by a retard. Bloober better cast a retard to play that guy.

Playing through Split Fiction with my nephew and had a good laugh at them giving the darker skinned character a knife and giving the lighter skinned character a whip.
The article whining about them turning the darker skinned character into a monkey might have had a point.
Me right now since Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth dropped on Playstation Plus Extra. I just bought the game.
Just finished FF Tactics, great game, well deserving of it's reputation imo.

Bro over here spending money like he's got... Infinite Wealth.
Ubisoft is on its deathbed.
Quote:Ubisoft said its focus will be on a “return to exceptional levels of quality on the Open-World Adventure segment”
Now is the time for Ubisoft to make the Assassin’s Creed Japan game people have been asking for since 2007.

The only game company that didn't fall into this trap is Nintendo.
Microsoft realized too late that there's maybe 3 people interested in Perfect Dark.
Sands of Time remake in development for 10(?) years, wtf were they thinking
SOT was sort of an "ok" action game on the GameCube.

Sands of Time was fucking amazing...for it's time, but that was a long, long time ago. The window of opportunity for the remake has long passed.
What’s amazing is the distance from Prince of Persia to the Sands of Time “reboot” of the franchise was 14 years. It’s been 23 years since Sands of Time.
There's probably easy-ish money in just doing A TR style 1-3 remaster for PoP SoT trilogy. Not sure why that wasnt the first choice anyway

My Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini arrived while I was on holidays and I've finally had a chance to play around with it.
This is my first emulation machine and I must say I'm impressed.
Everything I've thrown at it up to Soul Calibur on Dreamcast has worked flawlessly through Retroarch which is exactly what I was hoping for. Soul Calibur 2 on GameCube ran a bit shit though.
Any tips to get the most out of this thing?

A lot of lube, some flexibility and a moderate amount of force.
My Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini is now sticky and short circuiting.
Any tips for removing...moisture...from electronics?
Add rice. I hear that gets rid of moisture.
