Fleabag might have worked better if she only wrote or only acted the part, rather than doing both. But it's also hard to analyze because she did the role for so long in the theater, maybe there's nothing to distinguish anymore. The other characters weren't constrained in the same way. Then again I did have the thought, although the show never really even hints at this possibility though it could have especially with the first season finale, that the portrayal of others was also colored by Fleabag's dishonesty. Her being a completely unreliable narrator would be perfectly in character but the show seemed intent on making clear all events were being played straight.
