Well, hold on, what skin color is this landlord? Do we know their gender identity?
I wouldn't want to guillotine down.
L_Thammy, the anti semitic apologist:
Quote:The whole thing reads to me essentially that she cares about Black people in her community specifically and isn't interested in anyone else; since she hasn't heard complaints specifically from Black Jews in her community within the few days of her song's release, it's not something she's interested in.
Which is fundamentally an alien view to me because I'm not Black, white, or Jewish, but at least it's not the more incoherent response I've read.
https://www.resetera.com/threads/rapper-noname-releases-her-new-album-with-known-anti-semite-jay-electronicas-verse-intact-which-is-as-bad-as-you-might-imagine.752455/page-3#post-110653174
“Is just that , if it was from a white artist, we would call that response as a racist supremacy dog whistle.”
The actual interview is not that bad, actually and I don’t think she is saying what L_Thammy is interpreting it. Pretty much she saids that is for both sides to reach commonalities to understand, but if you can’t do that, what can you do?, in her opinion. Still, kind of shitty to downplay the anti semitic asshole.
Also:
Quote:With the antisemitic shit, I wonder if people are going to really try to just understand where it comes from. Like, why [do] so many Black people feel like that? Why [does] that type of rhetoric spread as quickly as it does in certain spaces in our community?.
I dunno if she can share this same empathetic sentiment with poor white rednecks.
The interviewer is trash, thought.
Quote:A lot of the harshest critics seem to be white men.
“Like a lot of Jewish people in the US are considered white…”

When the posters are aware that the site is full of assholes - even the thread title has to say “don't attack me" over something totally innocuous.

Seem RE is pretty divided about it and not exactly in love with landlords (not that they should hate landlords or consider every single one of them Trump esque slum lords but ).
In any case, I will not take advice from RE about morality or investment, even when I agree with them about something.

Landlords being bad are one of the few things Adam Smith and Karl Marx agreed on. This is absolutely not true, more importantly they agreed on something far more relevant to their incorrect reasonings: the labor theory of value.
edit: Let me clarify, Smith's faulty critique of rentiers was not of landlords inherently, it was of the land monopoly that existed at the time. The state owning all land would be a land monopoly. This would abolish "landlords" for one landlord, singular, with no alternative. You would not own, only rent from a monopolist.

Oh, look, two white cishet males who never denounced capitalism, colonialism and white supremacy.
Spoiler: (click to show)(click to hide) I know what you're thinking and nope, Marx said capitalism had to reach its maximum extent and was a good thing, it just paled in comparison to the guaranteed utopia of communism that would follow.
Quote:I remember when I was in Cal Poly Pomona we had one kid in one of my classes. I can't remember what class it was, but it was some GE course. I remember she got decent grades, but she didn't seem to be a genius or she would have aced all her tests and assignments. Maybe just a hard worker?
I also just remembered that I took Photography at my local community college because it was impossible to find the class open at Cal Poly Pomona. I simply transferred the credit when it was done. The class was about half college students and the other half was high school juniors and seniors. There was one girl that was only 14 in that class. I don't know why they allowed that.
Spends first paragraph downplaying classmate's intelligence. Then spends 2nd paragraph wondering why a 14 yr old was allowed into his leet photography class.
Imagine having to go college to learn to take photos as an adult
I always presume those courses are just crèches for the booj, unless there’s video involved.

Maybe you should explain why it shouldn't be allowed? Since you seem to know better and all. (Including better than those who ran higher education historically, since it wasn't usual to start college at 14-15 in the past.)
Why did he know the grades of another student? Maybe she was a genius and it was her one bad area? All he's doing is raising more questions about his claimed knowledge on this subject.

Do you think these fucking retards understand that the whole "landlords=bad" thing was only a thing because you literally had the feudal aristocracy owning vast tracts of land and common people were completely locked out of ownership and could only work the lands as peasants? How did that get translated into "guillotine anyone who owns an investment property"?
if someone owns limited availability thing, doesn't need it all the time, and other person wants to use thing, there is literally no reason why the owner shouldn't be allowed to lend it to them for money (thereby assuming the risk that the other person might trash their thing)
doesn't matter if it's a TV, a book, a game console, power tools, or a house
as long as both parties are agreeing on the terms, owner gets money, renter gets to use the thing, both parties benefit, incredibly basic economics
only becomes a problem if there's collusion, price gouging, legally-backed exploitive behavior etc.
one person renting out an extra property is not the same as an investment group that owns half the land in a city

You know they'd lose their shit if you suggested it divest itself of even one-tenth of its land holdings. The next largest land owners are state governments. With local governments added in this monopoly control probably goes over 40% of the total land area in the nation. Almost none of this land is accessible to the public, but lots of it is "leased" to corporate and other special interests who obtain political clout. Yet all they ever talk about is guillotining some local guy who is using his capital to make rentable space available to people who can't accumulate the capital necessary to buy. Strange that. Really gets the noggin a joggin.

Jason Schreier literally shaking rn

As someone who is against blocking as a principle, and who appreciates some of the things Musk has done, removing the block function would be disastrous on that platform. His reasoning is obvious: echo chambers are bad, and blocking helps create echo chambers. And that reasoning is correct, but only part of the picture. Between bots and general psychopathic stalkers on the platform, you have to be able to block for the most extreme cases. Muting isn't sufficient. If your mom and followers have to see nasty sex fantasies and rape messages below all of your posts because some crazy stalker decided to dedicate their life to it, muting doesn't help. Blocking adds extra friction to the process of stalking. Yes, that friction can be overcome by simply switching accounts, but having to create 100 accounts to leave 100 messages is a lot more effort than doing it all with 1 account, because that 1 account can still leave messages everyone else can see even if you yourself mute them. Thanks for reading, Elon.
