Fan diagnosis can be weird, but fans "claiming" characters is interesting when it's for themselves. Like the widely held notion of Piccolo being Black. Often kind of a natural result of poor representation that people start seeing themselves in the characters who, whether intentionally or not, resemble themselves and the people around them the greatest.

And you make the effort to try to be better in reading societal cues and understanding others… right? You just don’t want to people to call you out when you say the same dumb thing again for the 1 hundred time… losing everyone patience with you.

It's one of those things where we will not know until there's some kind of official word, which means we may never know for sure. As someone who is experiencing media, though, whatever you think about any character is yours and one of the most beautiful things about media and how we perceive it is that no one can really change that, so if thinking of this character as potentially having autism is something that makes you happy, go for it! I have my own headcanon for many characters in many things, mostly for things I personally relate to (I'm someone with severe OCD), and it's always great when I find a character that I feel really matches me. It doesn't always have to be explicit about it, sometimes it's fine seeing a character just be a certain way and exist in the world without someone officially putting a label on it.

It's actually pretty easy to not get banned, I never have (though I deserved it at least once for being an ass to a poster, something I still regret even after apologizing). You just have to only engage in the most vapid of topics and never anything deeper. After the 2020 primaries, I definitely pulled back to mostly engaging in threads about TV shows and shit. Maybe that's the end goal, to nuke all discussion of hard or complex topics. Personally I'd prefer if that wasn't the case but I'm not convinced the forum is much different from back then.

Outside of the outdated term... I find it a little weird how upset some people seem to be about this...?
It's simple headcanon coding stuff, but maybe I just "get it" as someone who codes characters as having ADD or being black.

I'm also surprised by the reception of this thread. Back when there were no gay or trans characters, people used to find the tiniest hints and then come to conclusions which characters might represent them. Finding relatable characters is fine.

Maybe the reason is because now we have stupid people claiming that Samus is trans because she does stuff considered “manly”.

I think some people in this thread would break down if they found out these kind of headcanons are fairly common.
