I have done this the past several relationships. I'm 32, the most important thing is to have children someday and have a family. I was with someone of 5 years and besides the slew of problems in our relationship, I permanently ended it because she wasn't sure about having children anymore. There is absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting children, but I asked her right before I made her my girlfriend if she did want children someday and said yes.

So yes, make sure to ask some serious questions very early in the relationship. It will save heartache in the long run.

I just find it incredible that people can't just celebrate a game with massive scope not coming in on fire and by all reports also very good. Who cares what platform it's on, making anything is an incredible feat and people should be excited to see things come to fruition rather than coming out a complete mess.

In fact I just wasted my time clicking on every single poster in this thread and going through at least three pages of each person's post histories to see where they game, and damn near everyone but like one owns an Xbox Series console or PC, looking forward to buying the game. Very few Playstation 5 s at all.

The majority of the negativity being brought into this thread is from people complaining about negativity, before it even materializes in any real form.

Prior context: My parents almost got divorced, mom had a mental breakdown and dad left the house to live somewhere else for a few months. Over the course of a few months, my toxic, narcissist, best friend convinced himself and all my other friends that my sudden change in behavior is because I have personal animosity against him. I assure him it doesn't but that doesn't stop him from slandering me to everyone i know over the course of many months and I had no idea. One day he loses it and goes after me in multiple various group chats (all with the same exact group of friends) urging me to call him. i gave in and called, he didn't pick up, and he continues to go in the group chat urging me to call. i say i called, he says I'm a liar and a bum and demands i call him again. i tell him to call back or go away, he leaves the group chat and deletes me as a friend on all platforms.

So anyway, I speak to a couple friends that were in the group chat about the situation. They're all neutral. One of them says I was "ducking the convo" and so the toxic friend had to bully me and harass me over the various group chats because "desperate times call for desperate measures." I'm pretty hurt about all this. They keep trying to pressure me into reconciling and hearing him out even after the way he attacked me in the chats.

Couple months pass. Out of nowhere, toxic friend reaches out to my mom and has a pretty heated back and forth with her. He tries to convince her of the same shit he convinced my friends with of how I have a secret beef with him. She knows why I was depressed at the time because of the possible divorce looming so she doesn't fall for it. He tells her "you're only taking his side because he's your son. tell him to grow up and call me." When my mom tells me about the convo I decided right then and there to never reconcile with him. You can disrespect me all you want but no fucking way am I letting you disrespect my mom especially given her mental health as of late.

In the months ahead, I notice my friend group hanging out with the toxic friend more and more and with me less. Yearly events that we'd all normally go to I'm excluded. Some of them start sharing screenshots of another iMessage groupchat with everyone in it but me on their IG stories.

This all came to a head when we all planned a birthday for one of the friends in the group. I'm in contact with the guys and I hit up the guys whose bday it is to hangout, he says he can't. I say no problem, we'll kick it soon. Me and one of my friends in the group coordinate on a gift. Weeks pass by. All of a sudden I see a picture online of all these guys hanging out. I wasn't sure if it was for the bday or not, but then I saw pics of him receiving gifts. Couple days later the bday friend reaches out and thanks me for the gift. Ngl I was fuming.

More instances of this happen. I then here from an outside source (can't say who), that the ex-toxic friend apparently hatched a plan with friend group to isolate me and stop hanging out with me until I admit I did have beef with him and apologize. I had a feeling that was the case. Unfortunately there's no way I can verify this given who told me this information and I can't risk throwing them under the bus.

So over the last few months i've hung out with the friend group a bit more frequently, but i've noticed some slick shit as well. we'd hang out and they'd talk about how last night was so fun, and it would be a move i wasn't invited to. shit like that. sometimes they'd have their locations off but when they're all together hanging out with the toxic friend (and i'm not there) they'd all turn their locations on.

I've been thinking more about all this and it's starting to hit me. I really don't like how they all stood by and watched while the toxic friend bullied me. I don't like how they're all convinced that I have something against him. I don't like how they distanced themselves and chose to prioritize him over me.

One of them just the other day sent a viral video with the ex-friend prominently in it to the group chat I'm in. They have another gc where the only difference is there's him instead of me, so it's obvious they sent that to the one I'm in deliberately. i honestly couldn't take it anymore and just left the group chat and deleted their locations altogether.

I have a strong feeling they're going to confront me on why I left eventually and don't know if should downplay it as a "trying to be less hyper connected to social media" thing and just distance myself or if I should take the opportunity to make my feelings heard in one last effort. I just don't know if they’re worth the trouble after all this. What do you guys think?

long story short i feel like this person has been sneak dissing me repeatedly and i want to check them. not really close friends with them but they've been integrated in the friend group recently.

i saw him a few weeks ago and we were all hanging out and they asked "did u find a job yet?" mind you i've never told them about my work situation or how i've been unemployed so another friend must've told them. i told them nah and they said "STILL??" in the moment i immediately thought wow, that’s a pretty callous thing to say lol.

couple weeks later we were all hanging out together. prior to the hang out i've been releasing more and more music on social media. the topic of music gets brought up, i’m not really paying attention, but i hear they’re talking about how different cultures have different styles of music. nothing crazy. then the guy out of nowhere goes "yeah the old heads love those types of songs haha.. but yeah, honestly, music is a waste of FUCKING time." i then noticed it got extremely quiet and it started to hit me that he might be trying to sneak diss, given that i’m the only musician in the room and just released a song the day before that i was promoting on social media. i wa going to react but i noticed everyone was kind of looking at me and i didn’t feel like giving them a show. Ngl it started pissing me off in the days to come and i wished i had responded or at least inquired into what he meant.

now i just hung out with them and i saw him and some other guy lifting something heavy and struggling, i come in teasing them saying they should hit the gym, whatever. i was talking mad shit but it was all in jest.

anyway the guy leaves and we say bye, seems like everything's all love. my friend tells me "hey he forgot his hat!" so i try to be a good friend and walk over to the guy to hand his hat to him. he looks me and says "yeah, you already know it's mine (the hat) ya feel me?" in a really defiant tone and takes it. no thank you, nothing, just a fucking out of nowhere flex.

i was thinking of dm'ing him and saying "hey bro. l been noticing every time i link wit you it's always some sneak dissing coming out of u towards me. if u got a problem with me just say it fr. i don't need that type of energy in my life rn. thanks."

what do you guys think? is that a good idea? or should i wait till next time i see him in person to call him out? or should i just let it go? normally i’d ask a friend for advice but since we’re in the same group i already know they’d tell me i’m overthinking it and excuse his behavior by saying “he’s just a troll” or some shit and not to message him.

Joanne (THAT FASCIST BITCH) tried to silence my activism for divesting from capitalism, colonialism and white supremacy by having an area-wide power outage for three days but my struggle for basic human decency continues anyway.

I contemplated leading the community to take to the ramparts against the capitalist pigs of the power company (albeit ones lovingly and selflessly regulated and granted a monopoly by the state only in the interests of all the people) and establish a community storehouse in which everyone can take some electricity, leave some electricity but the updated pride flag designs on my MG-42 and rocket-propelled grenades were still drying so I conceded by returning to my unstoppable activism for the right side of history once they fixed the grid to return it to my community housing. It's actually pretty easy to not get banned, I never have (though I deserved it at least once for being an ass to a poster, something I still regret even after apologizing). You just have to only engage in the most vapid of topics and never anything deeper. After the 2020 primaries, I definitely pulled back to mostly engaging in threads about TV shows and shit. Maybe that's the end goal, to nuke all discussion of hard or complex topics. Personally I'd prefer if that wasn't the case but I'm not convinced the forum is much different from back then.

I use Firefox for personal stuff (my own computers, and on my work computer) and I use Chrome for work stuff. I used Chrome briefly when it came out back in 2004 or whatever, but I've mostly been Mozilla-based or Opera (old Opera, not the new chromium version) my whole life.

As a developer I would like more people to use Firefox, as the stranglehold Chromium based browsers has on the internet is getting to IE5.5 levels of badness. But I also appreciate no one cares 🤷
