Despite our "unvarnished" words in this thread towards the crazy shit at resetera, I feel like most of us here have no interest or desire in attacking people even if they think differently than we do.  We'll certainly attack an idea itself, yeah, and most certainly clown on others outside of this community, but except for the rare exceptions during my time here, all the Boreans have been pretty inclusive and open to differences.  Hell, we even allow Dutch posters here; allowing that kind of directness is very inclusive.

Best advice I saw when I first joined was to not stick with only reading and posting in the shit thread (nickname for this thread), and I think it was really good advice to feeling more welcome here.

Second best advice I saw was making sure to contribute to the Like economy.

I actually kind of like it when someone joins who goes a bit against this forums grain, sometimes it's good to check yourself a little. Liking Nepenthe was perhaps a bit of a sudden culture shock though  

yeah, I agree, for two reasons;

1) It's intellectually beneficial to get a little pushback. It prevents groupthink, and keeps you honest.

2) If you can't defend an opinion, it's not worth having.

All I really know about him is that he’s  ‘s cousin, which is already pretty   , and started doing bro humor. Including very transphobic bits that I guess he’s forgiven for or something. And something about accidentally going to a brothel with trafficked women. Innocent mistake.

I get the sense that he’s very stupid and anybody somewhat left leaning knows it. But physically, he’s got solid genetics. Not to be mean, but that’s rare among online left leaning types. And if you want to appeal to shallow and dumb youths, it’s better propaganda than showing them a short chubby balding guy.

Famously, socialism is when you're poor. That's like... the main tenet of it, have 5.50$ in your bank account. This is such a common complaint it's become a meme at this point.

AOC will never accomplish anything of note. No American politician will actually accomplish anything either inside of the Democratic party, or in a new party adjacent to it. The current system as it stands is fundamentally unable to improve the country in any real way. That's why I'm a fan of Hasan, because being an entertaining streamer is about as effective as the actual left will ever be in this country. Much like this thread, it's not that serious a position.

He's gone on record saying that not only has he cut ties with the YT for years now, he fundamentally disagrees with Cenk on most things. He also hasn't done anything actually transphobic at all (although RE will tell you he's a virulent transphobe, so that should tell you that he's probably not).
