Long story short, my store sells gift cards. Due to criminal assholes, we have to institute fraud policies. Two rules I have to follow: We have a $500 gift card limit per household per day, and for anything over $200, I need a manager's approval regardless of payment method. I've explained the rules to black people, Indian people, and white people; one rich white dude I was happy to deny because he was a presumptuous and demanding asshole to me about it, throwing the cards in front of me like I'm a dog. Fuck him too. Regardless, I follow these rules for the sake of my job. Unless motherfuckers wanna pay my bills, I'm not jeopardizing what I've got.

Anyway, young black dude comes in. I greet him, continue with my business. He comes up and tries to get $920 worth of gift cards. I explain the limit and management approval. He agrees to do one card for $500. Cool. No problems.

Ten minutes later, his friend comes in, and I know it's his friend because he asks for another card with the remainder amount: $420. Now, even though I pretty sure doing this would violate the "same household" rule, whatever I give him a mulligan and decide to do it, repeating the manager rule.

He suddenly gets super fucking offended, calls someone on the phone and poorly explains the situation indignantly ("What do you mean I can't load $420 on a card that says $500?" We can give you the card, dumbass.)

But here's where I get hot. He says, "Y'all know what y'all are doing. I come in here, a black man dressed in shorts and a t shirt, and you're calling the manager on me." He demanded our names and employee numbers. We comply, I ring up his card, and I wish him a good night before he leaves.

Nigga, fuck you and your shorts. You don't know a goddamn thing about me. And really, you're gonna accuse two black women running the store of racism for a fucking corporate rule we didn't even make up because you're offended you have to jump through a single hoop to get your card?

Watched the full video today.

The main takeaway is that Embracer was super irresponsible with their purchasing and Volition suffered for it. The game may not have been good, but Embracer was expecting billions of dollars from a partnership (with an unrelated company) that never happened, and they would have been able to shoulder SR's losses if the deal went through.

So because of that deal falling through, Embracer was suddenly faced with massive losses and had to start closing studios because of it.

Volition shouldn't have to die because their parent company made a mistake.

About SR, I own the game, still haven't played it but still want to try it out. I'm never interested in the stories of these GTA likes, I'm just here to run around, shoot stuff, drive my car into buildings and blow stuff up. If the sandbox is good then I'm good.
