So whether you were dragged there via friends, won a ticket, invited by the company under mysterious circumstances etc etc... You are now in California in Disneyland on a cool September day... AND NO, YOU CAN'T JUST GO, COME ON!!! PLAY ALONG AND YOU'LL GET "A" MUFFIN!!!

The Park has gone through some renovations recently from funding via a deal with xAI and OpenAI, modifying and "fixing" the audio animatronics and rides with ChatGPT level of AI. The day has gone well (unless you hate Disney or/and theme parks in which cause it's been awful) but their have been several oddities, rides acting funny, worried staff; a feeling you're being watched intently...
That night, potentially separated by your friends, you find yourself struggling somehow to get out of the park before 10pm until eventually.... *BOOM!!!* You're shut in for the night! Stuck in the park until 8am the next day... And it's a very cold and rainy night.

But oddly, the lights are on and the door is open to the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln stage show. you enter the building for warmth and to your surprise, when you enter the theatre, the stage show begins, with Abraham Lincoln standing up from his chair and making his speech... Until he goes off script, his dialogue sounding liking it's cut up from other segments and distorted... And he begins talking about you, some accurate; some inaccurate... And then he whips out a bloody Smith & Wesson revolver from his pocket and fires it at you; hunting you across the park...

Because tonight... Disneyland is having an AI MELTDOWN!!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

The threats:

1. The "improved" audio animatronic of Abraham Lincoln is hunting you. He's slow and inaccurate and will be going on about the unfairness of existence (he will also answer questions if asked (won't stop him trying to kill you), some of the answers being accurate). He also has spare ammo but struggles hard to reload his gun.
   
2. The Audio animatronic of Walt Disney from the 'A Magical Life' stage show is also trying to hunt you with a hunting rifle and he and Lincoln have already killed all the park's night staff. Walt Disney also thinks he's a hentai character, in love with Elon Musk; and will unprompted discuss "white genocide" in South Africa, citing farm murders and the song "Kill the Boer".
   
3. The Pirates of the Caribbean animatronics can't speak and move as well as the above two, but will try to grab you if you get to close to the ride and will try to eat you... They can't actually digest you but it's the act they enjoy.
   
4. The Mainstreet vehicles are self-driving and crashing into everything and the Railroad Train is out of control and will eventually go off the rails and explode in a burning fireball.
   
5. The bird animatronics in the Enchanted Tiki Room will randomly explode while yelling at you about nonsense; both to try to hurt you and because the AI is just that crap.
   
   
6. The children in the It's a Small World ride will be singing random nonsense or pop song made by AI and will screech loudly to alert Lincoln and Walts to your presence. The will also giggle manically.
   
7. The Mark Twain Riverboat will crash onto land and force itself into the rest of the park, trying to hunt you or anything else the boat sees moving.
   
8. The Snow White animatronic from the Enchanted Wish ride now thinks their a Professional Wrestler and will wrestle you to death.
   
9. Autopia cars and the Dumbo the Flying Elephant carousel are now speeding out of control.
   
10. Haunted Mansion is full of bodies Walts and Lincoln placed there.
    
11. Hondo Ohnaka is NOT actively trying to kill you and acts like their trying to help you; but their actually trying to con you out of everything you have, including your organs to sell.
    
12. The Storm Troopers from the Rise of the Resistance ride are marching everywhere in the park, bonking their heads on everything, trying to fire their useless blasters and being more of a nuisance then anything.
    

You have to survive at least 10 hours in the park alone with these threats, there will be safety in the morning. Can you survive the night in Disneyland?

Yesterday the Supreme Court decided to fuck over half a million people and gave the Trump administration the go ahead to strip TPS for Venezuelans even though a federal judge and the Ninth Court of appeals made a final judgement on our favor(law scholars are in shock because SCOTUS has basically never stayed a final decision in a shadow docket)



I have been leaving in the US for 24 years. I graduated in 2013 from the University of South Florida with a BS in computer engineering. I have a good paying job as a IT Professional working with the Court Administration for one of the Florida's Judicial Circuit which I'm going to lose.

But when something that's traditionally a commodity, like housing, becomes a tool for wealth extraction and financialization, like real estate is in the modern world.

Not really a lefty term but I want to guess Assetisation. The process of turning something (not necessarily a commodity) into an asset. Commodification is the idea of selling something "free", like water, the internet, or perhaps even housing (social housing under Thatcher for example) itself, and selling it (a social good into a commercial good).

But those things are only free if no labor goes into them and they aren't. I could see water, but how could someone possibly think that internet or housing exist without labor?   I also don't think housing becomes a public good (even a theoretical one) just by being sometimes handled by the state, that housing was never open to all.

Here's something else relevant:

In Marxist terms the word you want actually is commodification, it's just a slight misunderstanding in that the financialization of housing is specifically because it is commodified. Land is the unique psuedocommodity in this view, its rent being the source of its value rather than labor, and the housing built on it is a commodified product which increases the rent value of the land on which it sits, becoming in practice a commodity like the things you might otherwise grow or make on that same land. A commodity doesn't necessarily have to be portable, simply something produced which can be exchanged, having a use-value (satisfies a need) and an exchange value (has value in trade).

It's not rent seeking. I know that one. I feel there's another term.

But when something that's traditionally a commodity, like housing, becomes a tool for wealth extraction and financialization, like real estate is in the modern world.

Not really a lefty term but I want to guess Assetisation. The process of turning something (not necessarily a commodity) into an asset. Commodification is the idea of selling something "free", like water, the internet, or perhaps even housing (social housing under Thatcher for example) itself, and selling it (a social good into a commercial good).

But those things are only free if no labor goes into them and they aren't. I could see water, but how could someone possibly think that internet or housing exist without labor?   I also don't think housing becomes a public good (even a theoretical one) just by being sometimes handled by the state, that housing was never open to all.

Here's something else relevant:

In Marxist terms the word you want actually is commodification, it's just a slight misunderstanding in that the financialization of housing is specifically because it is commodified. Land is the unique psuedocommodity in this view, its rent being the source of its value rather than labor, and the housing built on it is a commodified product which increases the rent value of the land on which it sits, becoming in practice a commodity like the things you might otherwise grow or make on that same land. A commodity doesn't necessarily have to be portable, simply something produced which can be exchanged, having a use-value (satisfies a need) and an exchange value (has value in trade).

At least somebody actually bothered to read the theory. Love that he explained it backwards though, land isn't produced so it's not a commodity. But land is exchanged so it's half a commodity. And the only reason this matters is because we have two "values" the value that everyone uses and a secret "true" value that nobody but Marxists knows. Which is why Marxism is fucking stupid.

Era itself is a great source for disproving the Marxist assumptions about socially necessary value as members like Dr. Nothing Loud and Melody Shreds clearly prioritize commodities to a massive extent even over establishing minimal housing. Their being gifted housing doesn't explain their income (M) distribution. It'd be dismissing concerns to claim they're doing something wrong versus organizing all of society towards their ends.

Sorry for being a bit off-topic. It's just that person claimed so soundly that they hated CD Projekt, that they hated what the game did to allegedly sully the community that they claim to represent, and I honestly thought they're so genuine about that, that when I found out that they *actually* so bent on playing the game ASAP that they used VPN and then claimed that it's okay since they're gifted by someone else.... Ever since that I always so cynical about words of boycott every time its mentioned by someone in here.
