There's no 'simple' way to explain why they're different because they're entirely different languages with entirely different histories. 'th' in Gaelic doesn't sound like 'th' in English. They're just using the same symbols to reflect different sounds. None are as 'valid' as any other, they're just different.

This is something that confuses a shitton of people when they visit Wales in particular. The Welsh language is no more complicated than the English one (it's probably less so seeing as how much of an amalgamation English is), but because people don't know the Welsh alphabet, they assume that it's far more so. It leads to complete mispronunciations such as Llandudno being spoken as "Lan-Dud-No" instead of 'Thlan-Did-No'. 'Of course, because people are people, this often leads to anger and entitlement instead of a desire to learn more.

Though really this is all kinda weird to me because English itself is notoriously difficult due to not having as concrete a phonetical foundation as other languages. For instance 'Deer' 'Ear' and 'Nia' all have the exact same ending sound despite offering completely different combinations of words, yet we find it incredibly hard to accept that other languages can have the same symbols mean different things to ours.


Or people complaining that Welsh has 'impossible-to-pronounce place names' from people who don't even know that 'w' sounds like 'oo' instead of 'double-you' in the Welsh language.

High budgets CG-fests is not what the audience or (most) film makers asked for but what the studios decided to do.
Overall I think we're going to see studios move back to $50 million - $100 million movies.

Oppenheimer had a budget of $100 million as did John Wick 4 while the average Marvel Disney movie sits at $300 million.
The latest Mission Impossible also had a budget of $300 million, which is just excessive. 

Also movies need to pivot away from being like video games and instead focus on their own strengths like Oppenheimer did.
Drop the 'Part 1', 'Part 2' thing too. It works for DUNE because there is so much lore building and moving parts in the plot but Fast X doesn't need 2 parts.

I hate all the new terminology that needs to be included to make sure that when you talk about women, you are talking about women. It’s othering, it’s ridiculous, and it’s sexist. And it may be because of lived experience, sure, but I feel like it’s nowhere near as bad with transmen or male terminology.

Something I've always wondered if perhaps a lot of trans women keep the same behaviors they learned as men even after transitioning. Like we've just spend the last decade talking about how male privilege makes guys talk over women, be more aggressive, lean into toxic masculinity etc. and that a lot of that is learned behavior and not just biology. It would certainly explain why trans men are usually so quiet in these conversations while so many trans women you see online are downright aggressive.

Those ResetEra clowns haven't even watched the video. They specifically comment on the Aloy model that it loses a lot of detail and they have other such comments about the 'cleaned' up faces and expressions too. Overall it's an interesting look at what the technology does well and what you lose by trying to make games 'more realistic' this way.

Also the conclusion is that it probably works best with Bethesda Games or GTA games with lots of characters that are generated not hand-crafted.

Animu style games look weird, Nintendo characters are nightmare fuel and the sculpted characters like from the Uncharted games lose detail.
However, the technology is very impressive and if you would actually implement this in a GPU or engine and not just some quick testing on YouTube videos you could probably get impressive results.

The only “bullying” happening is towards people who won’t get forced into the rigid, contradictory, and anti-scientific boxes of how “man” or “woman” is being defined for them. People can’t change their sex or gender any more than they change their sexual orientation. People can’t and don’t choose to be cis. (Ironically, changing the “sex” of a cell is at least more straightforward.) It’s more fluid for some than others, but that is not the same thing.
