What Are You Playing?
More Metroid Prime, what makes it so great is how everything comes together. The environmental story telling, art direction and S-tier level design. Delicious

Pokopia is fun too. I'm mostly focused on exploring and finding the Pokemon. Went on an adventure with Charmander.

Tried the demo of Star Wars Outlaws and I was surprised how fun it is and how good it runs on Switch 2. Feels kind of like a mix between Mass Effect, Tomb Raider and Assassins Creed.

It's funny that all these games run better on Switch 2 than they do on the Rog Ally X or whatever $1000 PC handheld that emulates Steam.

Honestly missed that this came out and I searched YouTube for gameplay footage. Fresh browser, no history. It’s all videos about the fluctuating player base and whatever surrounding the game.

When I found a basic impressions after x hours video, it seems cool but not for me because I can’t afford to get addicted to multiplayer games. Just kind of shocking how shite YouTube is.

Been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 since it joined gamepass.  Can't believe how great it is.  Played the first one back in the day but was so shit at the combat I had to give up, tempted to give it another shot.

Finally getting to FF7 Rebirth. Played like 5 hours, not really feeling it so far.

Feels like the bad anime/theatre kid writing got even worse in this. Sephiroth should kill the entire cast instead of just Aerith in that one upcoming scene.

Any good?

I have a Jet Set Radio itch. I keep looking at Bomb Rush but I'm worried it would be a let down.

I played the first 30 minutes or so and it felt great, and very Jet Set Radio

Smashing through screamer, loads of fun, hard at first but once it clicks its kinda like 13 sentinels with burnout attached.

Played the Pragmata demo on Switch 2.

I felt technically excellent, but just a bit...soulless or stale.

Is the full game better or is it just the same as the demo?

My copy just showed up in the mail, but I'm considering surrendering it to the police.

Playing Split Fiction with my son. Using Switch 2 and PS5 to play co-op. Why the fuck is this still in split screen?

Been playing hades 2 since it released into gamepass and it’s absolutely fantastic.  The atmosphere is amazing and the gameplay is as smooth and addicting as the first.  Plan on playing vampire crawlers and Albion online when they release tomorrow as well.  Too many games not enough time.

I'm nearly out of the good stuff though. At the Phazon Mines now that's where they ran out of time.  lol

I think the 2 or 3 hours leading up to that traveling between Tallon IV, Phendrana, Chozo Ruins and the Destroyed Frigate might be one of the best paced sequences in gaming ever.

I'm enjoying Invincible VS and I'm usually not into tag fighters. The defensive mechanics in this game make for interesting meter management.

Got the platinum trophy in Days Gone. It's actually one of the better Ubisoft styled sandbox games. There's something fun about having your bike be a character alongside you. Like the car in the Mad Max game.

It also helps that the main character shuts up during most of the gameplay.

The new Lego Batman is really good. It's clearly built off the foundation of Arkham but made more streamlined for the Lego audience. It's designed as a Batman game first, Lego game second.

One thing I didn't expect to enjoy so much was the game's story. It's like a kids stageplay adaptation of various Batman stories stitched together.

I picked up a cheap ($20) copy of Borderlands 4 for the PS5 and I’m having a lot of fun with it. I think a lot of the initial issues with the game performance has been addressed because I have not encountered those issues yet.

Very early in new Bond game but it seems alright. So far it is an Uncharted type with baby Hitman segments. Probably still in the prologue and it doesn’t feel Bond. It feels more like the Kingsman movie where you’re in spy camp.

I will say, I don’t understand the technology at play but it does this montage sequence where you’ll cut from one location and gameplay type to another and there’s no noticeable loading or streaming of assets. The other games I can think of to do that were those blendo quake 2 engine vignettes.

Thoughts on 007 First Light. Overall good. Not keen on the Uncharted moments, be they climbing handholds or whatever cinematic action that isn’t gameplay. I’ll include the driving in that. The challenges for those sequences are literally “take right lane instead of left” because they’re all accelerating down a straight path with no fail state.

Mostly, it made me want to play Hitman. The baby Hitman levels as Bond are the best moments. Followed by the traditional Splinter Cell type levels. And the shooting is pretty good too. You can disarm enemies by shooting their guns. Which is a fun if pointless detail. Likewise the brawling combat is fun for throwing enemies into the environment or chucking soda cans and mugs at faces.
