The problem is the highlighted absolutely never happens. So it shouldn't be a surprise there is eventually a line that causes people to snap and go after people who aren't saying anything about it while celebrating the gameplay, because not saying anything is how these things fester in communities. I'm willing to wait to see if they age her up before asking it to be banned, but Stellar Blade was already a sore spot for a lot of women here, so it doesn't feel great to see them tripling down while men here brush it off like usual.

This is pretty much how I feel, but honestly is kind of the history of this forum as long as I've seen it too. Era has been pretty inconsistent on what types of discussion are allowed, whether it's Cyberpunk or the Wizard Game or AI or whatever else being banned or confined to specific threads, or putting a big angry reminder about genocide on anything Microsoft because of BDS but otherwise allowing it. Some things are allowed, some aren't, and to some extent that makes sense because it's a constant negotiation with the community, but it means that there has been very little consistency on where the line is exactly. I guess we'll find out how compelling the "1000 year old dragon android" defense of Stellar Blade 2 ends up being as the discussion develops.
There is always going to be discussion that some want, some tolerate, and some can't stand. Some are going to feel that using the ignore list to customize what content they see is sufficient, some are going to be angry that the staff aren't doing "enough" to appease them. Unless Era and its staff want to be hardline "no" on certain topics, whether that's genocide, or transphobia, or Elon, or AI, or games with gross sexist vibes, it is very unlikely to change. I have never seen a si.
I wish this place aligned more with my own views sometimes, and sometimes I get pissed at what I see and what the staff is allowed, and I leave for a while. Honestly though, barring a major change in stance from site management, the only true resolution here is "if you don't like it, go find another community, or go make you
r own one."

Institutionalized sexism/sexualization is one thing, the patterns of which naturally lead to implicit and subconscious biases just like racism. That's a predictable consequence and it can be difficult to talk through even if people are receptive to hearing it out, but that's expected and commonplace in my mind.

No, what shocks and disturbs me here are the people who didn't even clock or identify a child's face in a sexual context until it was pointed out to them. You have to go out of your way to condition yourself to that kind of material if your brain is no longer automatically differentiating between adults and children.
