From the community thread:

Alexandros wrote:I would like to draw the staff's attention to a matter that seems troubling to me. In the "crisis at Marvel" thread and now in the Loki Nielsen ratings thread, there are multiple posts (might be 15-20 between both threads) by various users making fun of a specific poster that is currently banned. Regardless of whether anyone believes that said user 'had it coming', targeted online attacks by multiple people against a single person who isn't even able to respond and defend themselves verges on online bullying.

Fucker wants to have them all banned. That’s one way to stop criticism of your favorite franchise.

Nah, you don't get to compare reality to a hypothetical utopia.

What hypothetical Utopia?

Saying that stuff could be better and the world, while a better place overall, is still miserable for a lot of people is not controversial (I’m saying not to defend her or dismiss the dude point, because she goes nuts later and I don’t disagree with idea).
You're making the same exact fundamental error. "Stuff could be better" is either a nonsensical or tautological statement. In neither case does it justify despair and even less justifies demanding others also despair. "But there are things I dislike" is an is-ought error as the superior state you're comparing it to does not exist and has never existed.

edit: It's important to remember that the original quoted statement makes a historical time statement. "Everything is fine" IS historically true in that any earlier period would even less match the standard be it a hypothetical utopia or the current reality.
Colonialization? War? No thanks. I can't do anything about that so no point in worrying about it. Nope

Loki doing bad? Marvel plummeting? The Marvels soon to be the next casualty? Let's eat. Oh yeah

Oh, so you're fine with the chuds getting a win? Rolleyes
Dunno Benji, I wish my country was less violent and corrupt than others. That is not a utopian dream, right?

I don’t disagree with that. But wishing for things going better is hardly a socialist dream.

That's not a historical comparison. To match the others your statement should be "I wish my country was less violent and corrupt like Future Mexico" but I would still object because once we end capitalism, colonialism and white supremacy Mexico will be swallowed up by Brazil in President Lucio's wars of liberation.
Holy shit, I saw people mocking this on Twitter and you'll never guess what old NeoGAF.com user I found in the replies FACT CHECKING people:

Lol the first thing I see when opening Twitter is an ad for a "Detrans" documentary by PragerU.

OP wrote:Indeed. As a layman reading the thoughts of people with professional knowledge in this field, it seems like this is a foundational step and something Trans people could well utilise in the future.
SCIENCE!

Lol no, all people are going to want to use labs instead of pregnancy out of liberation of bodies and autonomy and not long it'll be perfect conditions than in a womb.

Feminism has been about unleashing these shackles.

But I mean sure if it makes them happy, it's just weird to want pregnancy.

Do they think you just pop the womb in and you’re good to go and have a baby?

Who am I kidding, of course they think it’s that simple.

If Collider and other sources are calling out their framing of DaCosta's moving and writers are questioning the "Feelings and Lessons" script, then it's at least a bit fishy.

scullibundo wrote:Collider is not a good source. Taking Collider's word over Variety Is nuts. But I also didn't know that about the author.

This is absolutely right and makes the MCU maniacs look hilariously retarded. Industry mags like Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, and Variety are leagues ahead of online sites such as Collider.

Wanted to fact check the writer in question. Gets kinda dark.

https://www.npr.org/2023/03/21/1164360143/rolling-stone-fbi-raid-journalist-james-gordon-meek

Quote:As the story noted, Siegel's sources told her "federal agents allegedly found classified information on Meek's laptop during their raid." Siegel reported that Meek left his job at ABC after the raid; a publishing contract with Simon & Schuster evaporated.

As edited by Rolling Stone Editor-in-Chief Noah Shachtman, however, the article omitted a key fact that Siegel initially intended to include: Siegel had learned from her sources that Meek had been raided as part of a federal investigation into images of child sex abuse, something not publicly revealed until last month.

Why did Rolling Stone suggest Meek was targeted for his coverage of national security, rather than something unrelated to his journalism?

Neither Siegel nor Shachtman would comment for this story.

…yeah. And amirox was arrested for editing old posts.

In a more serious example of her erroneous reporting, turns out she’s also behind the claim the Snyder Cut campaign was influenced by Russian bots. Even the Oscars pushed back against it. Totally clears the director. Thank you!

shadowman16 wrote:Im sure the comment wont be well received here, but honestly, my "constructive" critisism is said poster that's banned is a toxic bully, and its really hard to have literally an ounce of sympathy for them. Looking at the comments in the thread, the ones I saw were basically "gee its nice to be able to have a conversation now that said user doesnt rudely berate every opposing point". And honestly... yeah that checks out. Ive had several run ins with that user and they either purposely or unknowingly come across insanely rude and combative for pretty much anything that seems to go against their view.

So technically in order for the board to not descend into anarchy, yeah the comments shouldnt really be made, slippery slope and all that (plus they could just block said user like I did, makes things a world better). But yeah... they arent being that harsh and honestly the dude was part of the problem so I have zero sympathy for him.

And that ignites a big ass conflict with another Arab nations, many that would hate each other if not for Israel. I suspect that is the main reason why Biden has been ambivalent about fully supporting a ground invasion.
