The show was perfectly fine, character is designed to appeal to younger girls and the actress is really good. Not sure why there's so much hate out there for the show and character.

Are we really doing this? Are really trying to blame women led films and high profile women for the MCU's failures? So what's your suggestion here, get rid of She-Hulk, Carol, Kamala, Valkyrie etc because men are scared of them? Only appeal to white men (after all, those "core" fans may not like Shang-Chi, Rhodey and Sam either!) because diversity scares the MCU's apparent fans?

And I genuinely can't believe we're actually doing the "women don't like superheroes" thing in this thread. I apparently don't exist.

The character itself is fine but she has been pushed by Marvel as hell and her fandom in the comics are not exactly children to excuse how insufferable they can act.

I'm using broad strokes. Obviously there are women who like superheroes but they are in a minority of who is buying tickets to these movies. And no I'm not blaming women or minorities for anything. Personally speaking Ms Marvel is one of my favorite marvel characters.
Even if that's the case, the idea that women led films don't appeal to MCU's or comic movie fans is disingenuous the same way it was when game execs and fans assumed the same for video games (even after it was shown otherwise, looking at you Ubisoft), the original Captain Marvel or the original Wonder Woman would not have made as much money as they did if they really did, this films lack of success is due to way more factors than that. Plus even if are the minority of viewers, that doesn't mean you don't appeal to us or stop trying, you don't grow your audience that way and push away the audience you already have because why stay when it's clear we're not wanted?

I would personally love an epic comedy that gave Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail a run for it's money starring Squirrel Girl (Cameoing Bessie Hellcow), one of my life long wishes is to see a Starfire and Batgirl movie on the big screen and an unafraid WlW superhero movie would be amazing. Just because this and WW84 didn't work (both of which were said to be inspired by Freaky Friday thinking about it, that's a weird coincidence). Doesn't mean the woman audience isn't there because MCU has botched this movie and Ms Marvel so thoroughly (who should have had her own good movie right from the start).

Sweetie.. no one fucking knows who Squirrel Girl is outside of ultra fans..

I'm glad these people aren't actually making movie decisions because Disney would be hemorrhaging even more money.

It was entirely Disneys idea to not bring the very professional, likeable and sympathetic Brie Larson (who will likely win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV series) out for the marketing until like the day before the movie dropped and focus too much on the other characters instead.

The Marvel fan bubble completely ignores everything that is going on outside of it creating their own head fiction.

I think just about every Pakistani Muslim-American first gen teenager that saw themselves in a Disney + TV show actress with cgi pew pew powers went this past weekend.
