No, we didn't change our mind on self ID. Scotland's plan to change the law was blocked by the Gammons English. The other laws have never changed. There was a review, but there are always reviews. A trans woman convicted of a sexual crime would never get anywhere near other female prisoners. They'd be kept in isolation units for their safety more than anything else. In all other types of crime it's very much a case by case basis. I don't think anyone would be too worried about a trans woman convicted of shoplifting doing her time in Cornton.

Let me ask this, because I genuinely don't know. What do we do about it as a community? Do we ban discussion of the show? Mods already said they aren't doing that. Do we allow discussion of it and side eye every single person who posts on it or expresses any positive feeling about the show at all? Do we paste a disclaimer about the problematic content but then resume discussing the show as if nothing happened (which always feels like a half measure so we can have our cake and eat it too)?

Sometimes I wish discussion of some stuff was outright banned in this place not because of the problematic content in itself but because there's no winning for either side.

Yes, we will do this in bolded if the show continues to stay unbanned, and there is no issue there at all. This isn't an issue of sides. I absolutely do think it should be banned though.
