doesn't the fact that they're non-crazy and non-confrontational inherently imply that they would respect natal women, understanding that women have unique needs all their own and deserve spaces for themselves

understanding that for example as a trans person they didn't grow up needing "the talk" about never going anywhere alone where you might get raped, or maintaining a healthy mistrust of some men's motives

knowing that there's absolutely a difference between you and them, and there's nothing wrong with acknowledging that

The problem for Ree is that Mel Brooks has been dissected and analyzed to death and everything refuted due to their genius. So bringing up anything "problematic" will have some sort of response from ~1960 on that refutes whatever claim they make.

I watched this for the first time a couple of months ago along with the other big movies in Brooks' filmography (minus Space Balls), and out of all of them this definitely felt like the weakest of them. It wasn't a horrible time though; his penchant for wordplay and slapstick are pretty infectious even if you're rolling your eyes, but there wasn't any really big showstopper scene or emotional or political hook to elevate the fun stuff. Overall just fun stuff, but I don't feel the need to rush again to watch it.

Just something I've been thinking about the past week. Either for a video game where you played as a Lesbian where all the romance options are women or just in games with romance options in general, what are your dream romance options?

I really want to romance a snarky badarse warrior space woman in in heavy armour, possibly with raven wings and sings loudly in space-like taverns will drinking ales. Also a game that let's me romance a villainess/Doronjo-type character without "punishing" the player or shaming for it like Mass Effect 2; I just find the idea of shy woman of pure goodness exasperating the villainess with their goodness, good gestures and genuine care of the villainess's wellbeing their turning into genuine affection and romance to be adorable.

Please god no to the likes / dislikes. Its been brought up a few times in this thread but no way is it a positive addition here.

Look at polls with controversial topics. Just as an example this happens often. "Should we eat babies?" Poll result is 83% yes eat the babies. Thread is people discussing in detail why eating babies is bad. Now throw likes and dislikes into the mix.

Or the recent southpark stuff. Trans users explaining the show is transphobic and gross, and other folks popping in to say "can't wait to watch southpark!"

This show is harmful to trans people. 23 likes / 78 dislikes.

Lets shitheels hide behind a button press, doesn't add to discussion, and can easily make marginalized users feel even more unwelcome.

We are all aware of this and I can promise, unless there's a software update that forces us to have the feature and to turn it on, that it will never happen.

While a like/ dislike system would definitely cause more problems without solving many, and has been discussed to death, I find it amusing thinking about how obvious it would be that lots of members straight-up ignore and speak past trans people if a like system was implemented.
