For a while I've wondered if we need multiple currencies in Europe too.
One for domestic spending (groceries, gas, clothes, rent, SMEs etc.) and one for the international markets, stonks etc. .
We're already moving in that direction with all sorts of special legislation and policies for corporations anyway. 
The very same policies that make it impossible for any small business to compete at that level. 

It doesn't make much sense that the price of eggs goes up 10% 20% just because the Chinese real estate market is in trouble or the EU dumps $500 billion in some kind of climate fund.
The minimum wage is about 25% higher than it was 10 years ago but it's not like new workers are 25% more productive, more likely the opposite.

Black markets are already flourishing. Why pay €20 for a six pack of diet coke with added sugar tax if Ali sells it to you for €3?

Who, specifically, are the low information folks getting angry on both sides? I can imagine it on Twitter because it's Twitter and there's no standards being applied, but I don't think even the more active members in this thread are angry about the topic. Like Nepenthe has the most posts in this thread and has stated at several points that she doesn't really care about Pokemon's IP being protected, she's just critical of the denial of the fundamentally obvious and how this is just a visible case of a greater movement to throw artists under the bus for commercial interests. I don't think I'd frame that as "angry", and if it is, it's not really anger at anything in this thread so much as the greater cultural zeitgeist. I also definitely wouldn't say that she has low information either.

If I have an issue, it's less with people getting "angry" - which I don't feel is happening at a substantial enough volume in this thread to care about - and more the people who are popping their head in to try to shout down the thread, not engaging in the actual sharing of information that's going on, claiming that they're the only reasonable person in the room while everyone else is ridiculous while still operating only from the information on the first page of a 100+ page thread, or just making sweeping statements of the thread being full of misinformation without being clear on what that misinformation is or what's wrong about it. That's more of a general peeve of mine, though, and this thread isn't even the biggest example of it - you see tons of it in threads about ethnic groups, where you'll have a bunch of people popping in to go "this isn't a real issue, so shut it down".
