I can't say that I'm particularly attracted to men, though I can recognize when a guy looks good and I'm not overly defensive about it or anything, but I myself have recently realized my luck with women is pretty poor. Abysmal, really. Not that I don't get along with women I do, most of my friends are women, and I don't harbor like any ill will, but I guess my personality is just like...unattractive to women. Not in a "eeew he's ugly" way or incel vibes, but like I don't think I have any sex appeal whatsoever once I open my mouth and start talking.

OP, I want to be careful here because I'm not an expert and sexuality is a broad and complex subject and I don't want to swoop in and just reject the way you self-identify, but here's a genuine good-faith opinion of mine that I'm sincerely presenting as some food for thought based on what you've posted, in the spirit of trying to be helpful. If you absolutely know for a fact what your sexuality is then by all means ignore this. Here goes:

I don't think you're heterosexual. Not a typical heterosexual, at least.

That doesn't mean you're gay necessarily, either, but there's a very conspicuous lack of heterosexuality in your posts. You don't frame your issue as "there are women out there I'm attracted to and would like to be with them" you frame it as "I kind of would like someone to spoil me who finds me attractive." Setting aside that that's a very feminine mindset (I'm pretty sure it's the specific reason women aren't attracted to you - they're looking for the same thing), it's striking how there's noticeably zero indication that attraction to women is your motivation at all.

 

You mention that you can tell when a guy looks good (straight men are largely clueless and many of them openly admit it), and the above in particular stands out to me: you're still confident in your looks despite having completely struck out with women your whole life. Frankly it probably should make you a little insecure or have you second-guessing but it doesn't--you know it must be your personality because you know you are physically attractive. You have taste in men's looks. It's something to consider.

Ultimately I think those that look up to SNL as a neoliberal institution of morality are pretty naive in the first place and no one should really be surprised by the fact that Shane is hosting or that Lorne was interested in him in the first place. I don't have much to say regarding most of the recent discussions here, I usually bow out of gaming for weeks at a time when things get too toxic for me to handle. Platform wars is something I'll never understand despite having been something of a platform warrior in the PS2 days, but that was teenage me and it's been over 20 years since then, anyway I digress.

People on this forum, at least those who would recognize me, probably view me as someone with a singular focus on here. Probably 90% of my posts in the last several years have probably been related to trans rights activism and I guess that's just where my heart is right now when it comes to this forum.

I've probably given the staff a hard time, being bipolar I've certainly gotten overly aggressive at times and that's something I do apologize for. Sometimes the most convenient target is the person who has policed my aggressive tone even if their policing was justified.

Trans focused threads have not been that bad lately, low responses sure but very rarely does a bigot come out of the woodwork to out themselves anymore. The bigger problem I've come across and the one I've had a hard time figuring out how to handle is when people shower known famous transphobes overwhelmingly with praise because they made a thing they like and proceed to talk over posts of trans people trying to explain that said person has said extremely awful things about us.

This has happened repeatedly and even though it's been a bit since the last thread like this I'm still not sure how to handle it correctly. It most often comes up in South Park threads but it has also happened in threads on certain comedies as well.

I make it a sort of mission to champion trans supporters and expose those with hateful views about trans issues. I don't always do this perfectly but I try my best even while I contend with a debilitating case of bipolar disorder.

I make this post because trans people in this community have not had the nicest history with this place and in fact many have left due to previous issues. I stay because I still somehow think it's possible to make a difference for my trans siblings.

After 2 pages of no one replying to them, today continues to cry that the world doesn't revolve around them:

I've talked about being talked over in threads about problematic stuff before, to a frankly frustrating degree. it hasn't happened in a bit but i still get kind of upset thinking about the how the last South Park thread went.

I anticipate that we will soon have another thread by melody shreds offing themselves unless they get donations
