Does Wells understand MJ's character at all?

Is she supposed to have fallen out of love with Peter because they were separated? Does he understand that MJ is notoriously stubborn and notoriously in love with Peter? And also that being in a loveless relationship raising a couple of kids is literally her worst nightmare (as she saw what happened to her own mother and sister).

I'm not sure what Wells is going for with this, but it comes across as sexist.

The traditional way stories like this are done where the male hero ends up in some magical land for many years with a female friend (Superman and Batman have both been in similar situations with their friend Wonder Woman) is their feelings for their partner (Lois and Catwoman respectively) are so strong that they wouldn't dare sleep with their friend even when she offers companionship (and there's a lot to unpack about putting Wonder Woman in this situation with Superman and Batman), but if we put MJ in a similar situation, she, what? Falls out of love with Peter? I know she's a supporting character, but I can't shake the idea that this whole set-up feels incredibly sexist. Like women don't care about their partners as much as men do.

We live in a post-Joss Whedon world, so while I can't answer if Wells is sexist or not, I do think this run is sexist for the way it treats MJ, Felicia, and Kamala.

We'll start with Kamala, who exists in this story only to die. I'm aware the order for Kamala's death more than likely came from Editorial. But this execution was on Wells. And he blew it. She used her shapeshifting powers (despite not using them for some time and had previously been depicted as having lost them) so she can disguise herself as a white woman to die so the story could bait the readers into thinking it was MJ who died. (The villain is capable of magically tracking MJ and can appear anywhere, but he gets fooled by a shapeshifter. I'm just pointing out how ridiculous this plot actually is.) The brown girl dies as a white woman so the white male hero can be sad, and it turns out she was only in this story bait readers. I'm not saying the writer is racist, but this story is racist.

Let's talk about Felicia, because the book sure doesn't. She's supposed to be the one Peter is currently with, but you'd never know it from this story. This run has reduced her to a consolation prize because Peter can't have the prize he'd rather have (which is MJ for people who are unaware that MJ has also been reduced to an object in this narrative). And that's all I can say about their relationship because that's all this run has done with her in 26 issues.

Now let's talk about MJ. When they finally gave MJ an origin, she was revealed to have commitment issues because she saw her mother and sister end up in loveless relationships that ended badly. She wasn't exactly in a rush to be a mom. But she gets trapped in another dimension for four years and enters into an ill-defined relationship with the son of an interdimensional villain (and only available person she could have a relationship with) after adopting two "children." All we get is a montage (and I will never take montages seriously in an effort to seriously sell something after the South Park guys made a song mocking them) to say she loves this life she had no actual choice in making for herself. She is living what is supposed to be her worst nightmare, had no choice in it, and we never get into her head about what is going on. And Peter's sad because he can't kiss her at the moment he reunites with her. MJ is reduced to an object that Peter is sad he can't have. Her motivation for how she was acting, the kids, are absolutely pointless (and get brushed aside just as quickly as they were introduced). Her defense of Paul (with whom they are still playing coy on the exact nature of their relationship) has the spark of a decent idea, but the execution is so utterly inept that it can't be taken seriously. She's been reduced to an object shoved out of Peter's reach that try as he might he can't quite grasp (but maybe he'll be able to in the future if he just keeps trying since MJ acted like a tsundere when Ms. Marvel refers to him as MJ's boyfriend in passing).

This makes me less likely to buy the game :( It’s a personal thing but I just hate that other people will see me as shitty because I can’t have a wired connection.

Literally can’t because I live in a multi-storey house and, despite being above the router, any Ethernet cable would need to be 50 feet long, and wind through the entire place, to get to my consoles. I did try a Powerline Adapter but it tanked the overall speed because I’m in an old-ass house with old-ass wiring.
