Someone asked a Sony Pony how long they had PSVR1 to not know about YouTube app

Three or four years I'd say? I don't have the YouTube app on my PS4 though. I didn't even know there was a YouTube app, though if you had asked I would have said "probably." If you need the YouTube app to be made aware of the feature that's likely why I had no idea that it was a thing on PSVR. I've never watched YouTube on a console in my life, I just use consoles for playing video games and rarely a blu-ray.

Haha These threads are great. We always revisit these takes. It’s four months old for crying out loud, And already has a stacked library. Nothing and I mean nothing on pancake gaming has came close to the engagement and immersive experience that VR gave me. Red Matter 2 is incredible, Everything envisioned VR would be when I was young.

I watch a lad on Twitch, Streams all sorts of games, And he said there’s literally no reason to get a PS5, And his right, How many actual exclusives are there, Let alone tinpot Xbox. So it’s not a VR issue, It’s just the gaming landscapes changed recently.

People always moan about VR, Yet Sony should be lauded for being the only ones out of the top three pursuing it.

I’ve a PS5, And I’m pretty sure the only exclusive I’ve played is Demons Souls. A remake. The rest are just multi plat games I’ve played.

And people saying VR won’t succeed are just small minded, The tech is far too advanced and special to just abandon. Eye tracking alone beats anything you’re doing with your controller.

Ssup. Longtime lurker here and at the old place. Between life stuff and work I don't game as much as I used to but I still manage to find the time for 1-2 single player games a year. These days I'm PS5 only (apart from the 360 I've been Sony only in the past) and mainly like non open world, single player action adventure games (though I'll play anything FROM release).

I mainly joined for the EtcetEra stuff. It is imho the best twitter filter around and the Russia/Ukraine war thread is really the best place on the internet for coverage of that conflict. I also intend to follow a lot the sports threads with the NBA and F1 particular favorites. I'm really looking forward to the NBA offseason and all the moves that I'm sure are coming.

I look forward to finally engaging with the community here. Keep it real y'all.

But you can't win the game if you alienate enough of the left, that's the issue. Taking the left vote for granted is not a good idea.

Plus, relying on a socially conservative wing that is at odds with the rest of your party isn't sustainable. FDR was able to do plenty of good things with the help of the Deep South but they were also a huge obstacle in implementing his agenda.

You have to optimize your votes as much as you can. If you're a Dem and you can trade say 5% of your votes in CA and NY for 1-3% improvements in PA, FL, MI, WI, GA then that's a very good trade. It's not like the left is going to vote MAGA. They'll sit it out or vote 3rd party (who you can deny ballot access if necessary) so it's not even a swing against you.

My point is there are low hanging fruit on issues that the Democrats need to be ruthlessly logical on. Immigration is one of the primary reasons you've lost part of the working class not just in the US but across western countries. Sorry to say this but undocumented immigrants can't vote. It's time the left admits that a big chunk of the "refugees" you're seeing driving the surge in migration are really economic migrants. If you're going to call anyone from a poor country with gang violence a refugee then you are tacitly admitting that billions of people are allowed to move to your country and claim asylum. If the left is very clear that not everyone who wants to move here should be allowed to move here and theres nothing wrong for an American politician to prioritize the needs of Americans over non Americans then you begin to defuse what is imho a far more important driver of the working class divide than identity bs. Labor in the UK has started to do this pretty successfully. Resources are finite and you can't have both open borders and a welfare state.

a third will love you

It’s this final third that is the key. People are indifferent until they are no longer indifferent. The constant pushing out of negative narratives is being absorbed and that is having a real life impact on real people (hate crimes against gender diverse individuals rose 56% between 2021 and 2022).

It might provide some points and directions into organizing advocacy for our rights and how allies can help us.
