The older I get, the more the "can't afford kids" argument seems increasingly unbound from reality. There's no state-levied Kid Tax, no CPS visits if you make under X income. Sure you might lean on the generosity of friends and family, hit up the thrift store more often, not always be able to buy the newest $600 toy every christmas and birthday, maybe even give up some stuff you want to buy for yourself, but like...that's all extremely, super normal parent behavior. I am genuinely puzzled at what costs these "can't afford kids" people are imagining MUST be paid? And poor people certainly never got that particular memo.

There have been legitimate reasons to not be fond of MrBeast's actions that people have pointed out for years.

People didn't want to listen to those reasons because they insist on mindlessly eating up "feel good" capitalist claptrap while being actively hostile towards any attempt at thoughtful analysis behind what they're watching. A lot of y'all basically set yourselves up for this disappointment, and I say that as someone who was at least willing to give Jimmy the benefit of the doubt this entire time that he ran his YouTube channel cleanly under the guise of sheer political ignorance and naivete versus craven attention-seeking and serial neglect. Wasn't even trying to entertain allegations such as the fact that he found out a fucking child predator was on his team and didn't give a shit. But now we're here.

Hopefully you all have learned some basic lessons from this, namely:

- Media is deliberately manufactured, and thus you should be aware of what messages any given piece of media is trying to impart upon you.

- Millionaire and billionaire philanthropy is done for the benefit of the capitalist and his legacy first and the beneficiaries a far second. It also allows these people to get away for heinous shit for as long as possible because they fully understand open philanthropy disarms a capitalist-positive public from being able to critique them because they associate charitable giving with actual moral goodness (meaning people who can afford to give away millions are, in effect, better people than those who donate less or donate their time instead. How convenient for people advantaged by the system!)

- A white guy taking it upon himself to use impoverished Africans in bolstering his media empire is always an automatic red flag. ALWAYS

I think the Dead Rising remake is going to be one of the few Capcom Ls.

Not because of this change (although it certainly won't help) but because I don't think there is a big audience waiting for a remake of this game.
Dead Rising 3 as an Xbox One launch game was a dud and 4 sold so poorly that it ended any chance of a 5th game in the series.

Dead Rising was popular because it was an early Xbox 360 game that showed how many more enemies it could put on screen, a fun sandbox and mostly a glorified tech demo to hold us over until real open world titles like GTA arrived.
 
I don't think there is a lot of nostalgia for it at this point, especially with the Xbox brand being dead as a dodo.

I love my girlfriend and we've been together for almost 4 years now and lived together for 3 but I would live alone in an instant honestly.

It just feels like I literally have no time to myself ever. I spent my entire life being an only kid to a single mother, I've gotten very comfortable having time to myself and not having to interact with other people. I spent my entire life entertaining myself or slipping into playing a game for hours on end without ever talking to another human and I while I did get super lonely at times, not having someone on top of me constantly was more or less perfectly fine for me. If I'm in any mood other than super happy and talking constantly I have to get asked every 15 minutes if I'm "OK" because apparently focusing on the game or movie I'm watching leaves a resting bitch face on me that is constantly thought to be a sourpuss and being asked repeatedly eventually pushes my buttons.

I know I'm a selfish prick because I would prefer if my girlfriend could start making plans with the friends she has and not use me solely for all her socializing. A night with the house to myself where I can play a game, watch a movie or tv show I know she won't like, blast my music would be huge and I pretty much never get that because she doesn't want to do things with people that aren't me. We've had the talk about her being dependent on me and she's trying to work on it but I haven't noticed much progress in 3 years until just this last month.

It's pretty advanced and complicated tech with many applications that aren't immediately obvious, or don't work with the AI systems people know. Google isn't going to highlight cool stuff like RAG or document interaction, because you'll probably want to run that shit locally for privacy or bandwidth reasons. I run Llama 3.1, Florence 2 and a bunch of other stuff on my machine and love it. It's search on steroids. I can ask my PC "hey, that offer I submitted to client X a couple years back, what was my hourly rate back then?", and just get the answer. I also use a bunch of image models in editing, for stuff like background removal, touch-ups (inpainting), relighting and what not. And it's obviously very useful when writing code, though I mostly use it to write documentation for me, or have the AI explain code written by somebody else.

Even though there is no reason to hold back the release for other platforms, I do think most of these late 2024 games were once upon a time part of the Switch 2 launch line-up.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Sonic & Shadow Generations, Visions of Mana, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, etc. 

They work really well as handheld games and had relatively short development cycles building on existing games.
