This is by far the worst example of whitewashing, cultural erasure and racism I've seen in a big videogame and everyone just shrugs and keeps playing like nothing's happening, and then they'll gush how "talent won" when they make a thread about how the Pyron Archon's banner made a billion dollars or whatever.

I feel like just because it's a gacha game, 90% of Era will already dismiss it because, hey, it's predatory in concept, right? But this just creates an insane precent that the capitalist overlords can literally sell you everything from Africa and Latin America and then whitewash the people and it's all perfectly fine. Nevermind that this game is played by millions of people worldwide, just in younger demographics than your average Era user. It's not some niche thing, it's massive.

This is dystopic as hell. Like, Assassin's Creed making a game about an actual historical figure is somehow more controversial than the whitewashing of two entire continents. Man, the gaming community is just racist as fuck, isn't it.

It's always been obvious, but people have absolutely shown their whole ass this year.

I've seen people claim with their whole chest that, nothing else changed, having at least some of the Natlan characters being dark-skinned would somehow be woke, dei garbage that would ruin the game.

Openly take from brown cultures while noticeably removing the brown people (That's just the way it is, get over it monkeys, we just don't like brown people!)

Not every person of X culture is dark-skinned, that's why all the important ones worth caring about are as lightskinned as possible and all the throwaway ones are darker!

Reviews in the US/UK seem incredibly nice compared to what is happening in France. Biggest outlet jeuxvideo.com didn't publish their review cause the game is buggy and considered "unplayable". They're on Metacritic so the publisher should be grateful...
