This seems like bad marketing

Everything is aimed at adults in a perpetual state of adolescence, obsessed with children's stories being retold for them (not children).

There are ways to do fairy tales smartly in a modern setting. Ironically, Disney was doing that masterfully just a decade ago with Tangled and Frozen. Going back further you have Beauty & The Beast and other films. All of which included proactive, smart heroines and kind, dumb men as love interests. And nobody called that problematic because the world is full of couples that look exactly like that lol. 

It wouldn't be hard to imagine all types of ways to do Snow White like that without showing disdain for the story or deciding to cast tall men (and women) and dwarves.
