EDIT: This reminded me of my first fox encounter.... hearing one.
FYI, here's what a fox can sound like for people that don't know until they hear it one night while walking a trail in the evening and almost shit themselves. I didn't know if I should stand still and be quiet or make a bunch of noise or run like hell if it was a Sasquatch
