The MCU has Feige leading them, who has pushed for diversity in most (not all) chances he's gotten.

Ike Perlmutter tried to spin the failure of the Marvels and other recent MCU projects on the female leads and the black leads when he tried to grab power.

I can assure you there's a ton of Disney execs that feel just like him and the only reason they can't stop it is because Feige's name is too big. But the moment that goodwill runs out or Feige walks I am sure the MCU would become much less diverse.

Meanwhile LFL has Kathy Kennedy also pushing for diversity. But Guess who got an entire South Park special calling her the culprit of making media "Lame and gay" by forcing studios to "put a chick in it and make her gay"?.

Pressure is being put on the people making this stuff from all angles to make the products less diverse.

The "Just make good movies" narrative is part of the reason we're in this mess.

Diverse stories should not have to be perfect infalible pieces of subversive work to exist. White led media pulls out utter shite like "Anything But You" that's succesful all the time and no one is declaring it the death of cinema.
