Second go of Alan Wake 2. A lot of it is annoying and the gameplay is objectively bad but I'm enjoying it more and making decent progress.

The real flaw of this game for me is Sam Lake. The metatextual stuff isn't clever, it's stupid and weirdly narcissistic. I feel like I'm reading the first draft of his rambles whenever the Sam Lake/Alan Casey characters speak.

I've adjusted expectations to a kind of Hellblade/The Quarry level of videogame and having a better time of it.

I was honestly amazed that I almost never see this called out about AW2. It's so unapologetic and in your face: Kojima games are study in humble understatement by comparison. 

I really wanted to like the game but ended up dropping it because of this + the awful gameplay.
