I'm old enough to remember when they said tariffs would hurt the US the most if that's the case, why doesn't anybody wants some nice tariffs? 

Because they hurt everyone dummy. It's a war of attrition. The Chinese couldn't make them work against us and our economy is tiny compared to theirs.
