Deadpool was literally last year and became the biggest R rated movie of all time. Guardians 3 was a year before that. Wakanda Forever before that. No Way Home, Shang-Chi, Loki, WandaVision, Agatha All Along.

But yes, he should be fired.

It would be so nice if we could discuss the MCU's problems and the fact that it's been diving up and down in quality without ridiculous and disingenuous hyperbole.

Bleak times when the best defense Zeo has for the MCU is nostalgia bait, forgettable movies with barely coherent stories and a million loose ends left dangling in an increasingly incoherent universe, Disney+ filler, and maybe one or two enjoyable bowls of slop films.

On the increasingly incoherent thing, I was looking back through the ‘phases’ yesterday. 1-3 all built to an Avengers movie (or two) and had a vague arc to them. But then look at Phase 4:

Black Widow
Shang-Chi
Eternals
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Thor: Love and Thunder
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

What happened to the ability to weave characters and themes across movies into a finale? That’s just seven unrelated movies ending with a mid sequel that doesn’t tie up anything. And the two led by new characters haven’t been seen for half a decade.

Phase 5 is similarly a list of unrelated movies that they’re topping off with we have The Avengers at home Thunderbolts 

Anyway

I fucking loved the MCU but it basically finished for me after Endgame. Everything since then has been all over the place and the forward planning they used to have has gone out the window.
