they wouldn't have released an updated photo if she hadn't complained, and they wouldn't have agreed to her request if they weren't absolutely terrified of seeming racist or discriminatory, and they wouldn't have to worry about that if the UK wasn't utterly fucked

you are fighting against a framing and not actual falsehood, nothing more than tone policing

if it happened in the US, I would say the same thing about the US, because it would be true there as well

you don't acquiesce to insane things and then maintain that insane determination unless there are systemic issues that make it seem like the best option
