They offer player agency and freedom in a way no other developer makes games. Your not railroaded into missions and forced to complete them one way or another. If you wanna take on a mission then fuck off and do a million other things you can. Wanna kill all the npc's? You can (for the most part). You can play however you want and do what you want to do. Want to skip the main quest and just do the interesting faction stuff? Do whatever
For all the shitting on Rockstars 'philosophy' and that dumbass clip of that guy on his ball sitting talking about how R* games need to change, Bethesda gets none of the props. Or well, at least some of that has been forgotten.
Fallout 4 really wasn't that great, I wasnt a fan of the story nor did I like the voiced protag with a set backstory.
In terms of gameplay it wasnt bad perse but the city itself is indeed dull to explore, nothing interesting.
I don't need an explanation. I've played Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, and a couple of Fallouts. They all got pretty boring quick.

If this is a better game, cool. I'll wait and see what it looks like once people have it and the hype dies down.
The most fun I had was modding the shit out of the games and interest died out after that. But the Macho Man Skyrim dragon mod will always be amazing.
Playing these games on consoles without access to all the mods
