Whether it was a desperation for money, selling stuff off, or getting a new system with no BC (PS3 -> PS4), going back to a clean slate is refreshing to me. It's hard to accept half the time, but I never regret doing it in the long run.
That being said, this subscription service BS is always a hard pill to swallow. This recent PS+ price hike maneuver could be the straw that broke the camel's back. I have so many games on there, it's almost overwhelming... It's a double-edged sword though, because it makes it harder to focus on one game at a time. On Steam, I got maybe like 20-30 games. It would be nice to have a fresh library to focus on one game while it lasts.
The other toppler, is the success of the steam deck. PC gaming finally getting to a comfortable convenience with it, it's definitely a grand swing for heading to sole PC gaming.
AND, now that they're selling refurbished ones, it's even more tempting..
For me, I done away with my PS4 when I got a great PC.
I thought fuck it, if I ever want to play all those games again I'll get a PS5.
So far there has been nothing on PS5 that has made me want to jump in, but I have acquired a shitton of games for Steam
