It has been too platonic and shallow, so I kind of see her point. My plan was to just hop off that train and give her a big hug, she'd either be cold and distant or embrace me and that's when I would know. I've set out 3 topics I want to talk about to see if we can close the gap between us in a different way.
My story and background, our dreams and intentions and finally that we're both in our 30's and despite my galaxy brain and writing skills the whole thing wouldn't make anyone wet so far and I want it to be more exciting, romantic or simply help her relief the tension after a long day of hard work.
Then she can decide if she's willing to invest a few evenings, which is a little effort for a long term relationship. I wanted to keep it for the IRL date but after talking to some folks that's not how it works anymore. They want security, safety, assurance, intentions etc. before the date especially after they had a few bad experiences. She's also a bit of an introvert WFH type. But I also put down the gauntlet that I want things to be fun and passionate, I'm looking for a lover not just a friend. Which either pulls her in more or turns her off completely. Whatever the case she knows what to expect.
Overall despite it being Bumble I need to take the lead on this thing, women just can't do it. She liked me but she never said why she liked me.
I think that guidance and clarity is what she's looking for and also a little more spice but she's just unable to turn our chit chat into anything meaningful herself.
At this point I have nothing to lose so I might as well try. The date might still go bust but at least I've reached another milestone.
If it doesn't work out I'll probably put the serious dating thing on the apps on the back burner or timebox it until after my trip to Canada. Meanwhile I'll just keep lifting and improving my pics for potential Netflix as background noise hook-ups and now that I'm over 35 I might also lift the single mom ban and up the age limit to 40 for those hook-ups.
