“Every day, I come by your house and I pick you up.
Watched Hellboy: The Crooked Man which - did this shit even get released outside of streaming? - is pretty good, despite having bad critical aggregate. Its probably the best Hellboy Film.

Not the best Hellboy film (the first one is, obviosuly) but the best Hellboy film.

Given how bad the ciritcal consensus is, and its honestly actually pretty good, I was pretty surprised by some of the stuff people didn't like - like, that it comes across as a horror film but isn't scary (because its a fucking hellboy film), has a lot of tropey creepy stuff (because its a fucking hellboy film), and also that it lifts a lot of shots directly from the comics (because its a fucking good hellboy film).

If you like hellboy, I dont really see a scenario where you dont like this.

As a film its probably the second best hellboy film? Its pretty close to what I was hoping for with the Sam Raimi Dr Strange, in that its set up for an authentically creepy scenario and antagonist, but the protagonist is a fucking comic book hero.
Tonal clash is kind of the point - you got supernatural shenanigans a plenty, and hellboys just a fucking brick to punch them, shoot them, or punch them then shoot them. Some really good practical VFX going on too.
