I can't imagine what is wrong with people that it's gotten to this point. Turns out whining about "woke" games wasn't what was needed for GamerGate 2.0, it was going back to the classic misogyny and brigading of women. Utterly dire how these harassers are alowed to run rampant and whip up hate mobs with the platform corporate overlords staying hands off.

I genuinely don't fucking understand how you can look at a paid journalist getting blowback on their multiple oped hitpieces on a fucking nobody, not on the grounds of them committing anything illegal that should be exposed in the public interest, but on the grounds that the journalist doesn't personally agree with their position on something and conclude that the person with a paid position at a large platform is the underdog in that dynamic.
Mercante cant get a fucking job anywhere because it is such a blatant and egregious breach of basic fucking ethics that she is entirely toxic in her field. Not because there is a huge conspiracy to silence her.
I also can't help but notice all of the 'how are they cancelled tho?' talking points era usually falls back on also fucking apply to alyssa mercante.
