This is totally unrelated but talking about disability reminded me of this. Now that I'm on Medicare, I have United Healthcare as my provider. Yes the one where the CEO got shot. I know why he got shot they are the cheapest provider so they're the most likely to deny. I was on ozempic for my diabetes but when I got on United they called up my doctor and made him give me another blood test to see if I could go on a cheaper one, Trulicity. Even though the reason the doctor put me on Ozempic was because of my heart. The ozempic has something about it that's good for your heart other than just the weight loss. But United Healthcare didn't want to pay for that drug because it's more than trulicity. So guess who got put on trulicity, over the advice of his doctor because UH didn't want to pay.
Interesting fact about UH I found out is that they also give me $180 credit to spend in a company store type situation provided by Walmart. There's certain items I can buy online through Walmart store that get charged to my "United Healthcare Dollars" account. That's $180.00 but it expires at the end of the month. It's a use it or lose it. And I pay that same amount for a premium. So you can see the pitches you pay the $180. But you also get that $180 back in store credit at Walmart. Very tempting.
