It may seem like it superficially with 'bros' but all too often – due to toxic norms – it's too shallow and not a real safety net for when they're experiencing difficulties and insecurities. Naturally not a blanket trueism as strong bonds between friends can be fostered, but it's not as much of a necessity (nor taken as seriously at large) as other groups needing to find community and organisation to tangibly confront the ways in which society targets them. I think this both leads men to feeling isolated when they grow older and those relationships fray and fade, and the inverse where they find the validation of communities like those build up around Tate and the like appealing as it's giving them something they felt they've lost (or perhaps never had).

lol shut up.  What a dumb generalization.  There are fraternal networks among men that build community that aren't "toxic" or "superficial".  There are structured, emotionally supportive communities that men lean on during divorce, job loss, grief, mental-health or other crisis and are anything but shallow. It's just that people fall by the wayside and, as you’ve already conceded, you find it hard to extend empathy to those who have fallen through the cracks, a stance that risks deepening their isolation.  Men are not cartoon characters that just produce machismo, floor-punching idiocy everywhere they go.   In every case where empathy is helpful, you people disregard it, and use it as a cudgel to demonize people in all other cases.  You people are so morally confused and unhelpfully generalize so often it's insane.

How the hell can you say this:
Quote: I struggle to reconcile why men's behaviour is so profoundly affected by society 'beating down' on them when other groups society actively targets don't suffer the same fate.

And then speak so confidently and authoritatively about the issues facing men.  You just said you struggle to understand it.

Empathy matters. If the broader culture frames isolated men as inherently defective or dangerous in ways you "can't reconcile" you risk deepening their alienation.  It's that simple and it works that way with everything - extremist politics, too.  Any solution that works for other marginalized groups - affirmation, outreach, and non-judgmental support - should be extended to men as well.  Stop being a fucking divisive cunt for no reason.  There's no reason to say "well, i have no idea why these people are struggling, they should be fine."  When that solves nothing and issuing blame to them takes the pressure off of you to act like a fucking human being.   Men are not uniquely fragile and don't have "unique" toxic elements to their communities.  The high male suicide and homelessness rates should underscore the point that this mentality isn't helpful.

Well that’s what’s so hypocritical about their arguments and politics when it comes to men. Every single argument they use about any other demographic is ignored and dismissed when it comes to men.

Education: Girls (the real kind, not the Kaijiu kind separate from women) need more Stem focus and support from school staff to raise college entry rates up to where Boys are. Boys? Education is not a zero sum game, and attention will not take away from boys. Oh, their college entry rates have tanked to be lower than women? Must be their toxic masculinity and they have to fix their shit themselves. Bootstraps!

Mental Health: Mental Health matters! We need to prevent suicide and give people the resources they need for support. Wait, why do Men have some month dedicated for their mental health? I don’t give a shit they make up the vast majority of suicides, all lives matter!

Abortion: Women deserve the right to choose! It’s their body and their rights. These are medical decisions and should be made between the woman and her doctor. Child support? Of course men have to fucking pay! I don’t care if they didn’t want to have the kid, they should have kept it in their pants then. They don’t get to choose!

Safety: Have you seen the rates of violence by men upon other men and women? This is why women choose the bear. Women have every right to be scared and worried about all men all the time! What!? African American violence rates are high and you are scared of blacks?! How dare you with such a racist argument?! They are not a monolith and you can’t treat all African Americans like they are animals!

Every empathetic argument, many that I agree with, goes right out the door as soon as it is discussing men. It just shows the fair weather nature of their arguments and even logically betrays some of them. Especially that one on safety. It absolutely is racist suggesting all blacks are dangerous based on crime rates and such, yet the exact same logical argument is considered misogynistic as soon as it’s directed to just men.
