The more I think about Zionist = Nazi rhetoric, the funnier it gets.

Like, the reason that “Nazi” is the generic shorthand for the absolute worst kind of person you could be is because they did something pretty specific that is considered uniquely abhorrent.

I can only imagine the contortions that Taylor Lorenz would tie herself into if asked to explain what the Nazis did that make them universally understood as history’s baddest guys.

The leftist view of the Holocaust and the way most Holocaust education is it's about imagining yourself back in time and doing the right thing so you're on the right side of history. Jews, centuries of antisemitism building up to it, the Nazi's weird conspiracy theories and racial theories all aren't in any of the way progressives see Nazis and the Holocaust. It's a Marvel filmified version of history.

The Holocaust is the most notorious evil thing humans have done, it was done by Nazis, Nazis are bad.  Taylor is good and on the right side of history, anybody who doesn't hold Taylor's position is a Nazi, "Zionists" continue to prosecute the war (or as she believes , genocide) in Gaza which Taylor is against, Zionism is Nazism.

The Atlantic had a good piece in April 2023 asking if Holocaust education is making antisemitism worse.
