I understand your criticism but I’m saying is, right now, cinema sins level of criticism. Because until we get the other films we don’t know how they are using this stuff if any.
Going to repeat myself saying that I don’t really care about shared universes, so whatever someone uses it or not in other DCU stuff is not my concern. And I don’t think it’s a bad element to have because there is good comic stories that used this stuff good and wisely. The comic industry is dying because the over reliance of events, publicity stunts and everything being in line with the shared universes, rather than actually doing good stories. Having silly ridiculous stuff is not the impenetrable part, but that understand what is going on you need to read shit you are not interested rather than those stories being interesting on their own and making feel the world more alive.
It sucked in Star Wars because it was supposed to tell a coherent and planned story. They didn’t and it shows. But we know that wasn’t the only reason why those films sucked and bad writing goes beyond “danger hair lady destroys a fleet with warp magic”.
If anything, I also think Gunn is making a mistake in making everything interconnected as that is going to create audience fatigue like with Marvel, but I don’t care as long as the individual stuff is good, when stuff goes Iron Man 2 is when I will be first to shit on it. Just saying that stuff like pocket universes doesn’t kill the film to me and it sounds that neither for the general audience.
