ok so like

couldn't you at least say he can be relied on to defend "parents who have legitimate concerns" as he terms it?

or rely on him to take the waffling wishy washy politically expedient view?

and setting all that aside, why does not defending one thing render them unreliable in all things? he's gay, so you can probably rely on him to defend gay shit, right?
