It absolutely was a paid puff piece - he was whining on stream about how dogshit his online reputation is and how its affecting him being perceived as the great insightful political commentator he is in his own mind and how he needs to fix his reputation with normies, then suddenly hes doing puff pieces on NPR and GQ about what a cool lefty hunk he is ladies and gays and looksmaxers
