Ultimately, the race of the shooter doesn't matter.

Their ideology doesn't matter.

The gender identity of the roommate/lover doesn't matter.

How long they were in college doesn't matter.

The truth of the narrative doesn't matter.

What we're looking at is a moment that has just been waiting for an excuse. This is a piece of the larger conservative backlash that we're smack dab in the middle of.

If the people around you are surprising you, I invite you to look at the exit polls.

We made this last election a referendum on how Democrats have failed. And in a lot of ways, that's right.

But there's is one uncomfortable truth remaining, and in moments like these it is staring you all smack in the face, and it's about time you opened your eyes and stared right back:

Donald Trump does not win ANY election without a shit ton of people being OK with this.
