Pretty sure they had farming and families and consumption. Likely trade even. Currency.

But what do I know, I've only read about history of the world not labeled everything above nomadic hunter/gather tribes as "colonization" or "white" like the experts.

It basically sounds like a strange mix of "anything that matters in the modern world was created by the west" and the "noble savage" trope. Like honestly it seems kinda offensive.

I for one already love that one game where you play as black people stealing shit that they couldn't be arsed to preserve themselves.
