Option #1 - End the rebellion
End the rebellion, return to being a wagie, hope that the boss in his time will increase my share and payout (3 - 5 years?) and his lack of decision making won't bankrupt us all before then. The company remains steady. Some day I will take it over.
Option #2 - Show them the Path to Victory
Let me double the AI business every year -> 20% -> 40%, so we hit 50% in 2028. Demand a free reign and a higher pay out to do this or I walk or join the business guy in 3 months. However I will step down from my "COO" role and give up my claim to the throne. The head of development can one day take over the "old business" when the boss retires.
Option 1 means I keep slowly building the thing I have been building for 13-something years and work is just going through the motions.
Option 2 means going all in. High risk / high reward.
But they all have to admit after I rocked the boat it started to get into motion again.
The problem with this foolhardy mutiny is you don't know what you want from it all.
Is it more money? More power?
Unilaterally blowing up in the office with nowhere else to go or no actual irons in the fire is not the best plan overall, and might actually be mental behaviour depending on the outcome
