Personally, I think there's a difference between, say, funding lobbyists towards a certain position, or funding a pet political party towards a certain position, and running a botnet astroturfing a propaganda / disinformation campaign on social media, directly funding talking heads to raise talking ponts without disclosing that funding, using malware to obtain oppo research and disseminating through controlled leaks, etc etc etc.

AIPAC splashing money around on fancy parties and campaign donations to curry goodwill, and an FSB psyop to create discord are fundamentally not the same thing.

It's the same thing. The Israelis are just way better at it. The Russians are boors. Thugs in suits. 
The pro-Palestine crowd are communist agitators and low level street gangs.

The Israelis pick their moments and the right people.
