Ok, I gotta step back here for a second.

As a pet owner myself, when my little baby shrieks out in pain while people are watching I also lazily turn over my shoulder and mutter "what a stupid piece of weak trash you are" and return to my previously in-progress activities with marked indifference.

Perhaps we should wait for all of the facts.
