Just FYI but "I bet they all play on mobile" and other similar comments are so deeply rooted in sexism and it permeates the industry.

I once consulted on a game that had a male protagonist by default and when I asked why that decision was made, the lead of the game said it was because the people who would play it are men.

I then showed him data that said most of his player base, if the game was marketed correctly, would actually be women.

The process of denial afterwards despite multiple data points supporting me was a trip and a half.

Before people spread more sexist bullshit:
21% of women play on consoles (27% for men)
15% of women play on PC (27% for men)

So it's not sexist to say they play more on mobile? It's FACTUALLY CORRECT?

- Openly says they didn't read the study at all
- Tries to push the "women are mobile gamers and thus not real gamers" message with the subtlety of a brick
- Pushes the idea that men mainly play on console or PC (the study in the OP shows that both genders are pretty equal on consoles) and pushes the narrative that women only play "mobile games, some Nintendo stuff or trend games like among us" and "mainly men playing like AAA games and known IPs".

It's openly sexist bullshit in a thread about a literal study disproving that bullshit, including a breakdown by genre showing many of them tilted more towards women or pretty equal across genders.

Like, you couldn't be even more nakedly "just asking questions" if you tried. The "I think this doesn't tell the whole story" sentence gave the whole thing away.

Another person comes in to confirm:

It's crazy someone spouts off sexist bullshit like that in a thread containing a study showing men and women about equal on console.

Without a hint of irony either.

21% and 27% aren't "about equal" either, that's a 30% difference.

Now if only these stats were driving the industry to objectify women less. But instead we get gooner garbage surfaced front and center practically during every major gaming event.

I feel like there's been a major backslide over the last couple years. Stellar Blade and its ilk, horny ass swimsuit skins for Street Fighter, the Code Vein II trailer opening with balloon tits, etc. For every Yotei, there's like a half dozen, "look at the hot girl" trailers/games.

This guy doesn't understand high femme concepts.
