It's incoherent because it's all ad hoc reasoning to get the "win" that presents itself at each individual moment.

There's a psychoanalyzing media literacy type comment I could make about the relation of this behavior to their favorite media with characters who always have complete command of all situations and pull out whatever plot device or perfect statement is necessary at every moment. Though usually it's villains who have plans within plans within plans that always know you're going to look left at this exact moment and then ah, I knew that's what you were going to do because how could I not. You're so simple, unlike me, an endlessly complex unique mover of history, the true protagonist of our story.   But wait, what's this, the hero actually knew that all along and that's exactly what they planned on them doing the entire time.

It's not an incoherent jumble of nonsense, you just aren't smart enough to see the master plan that's always been at work. You could save yourself this anxiety by just knowing what's correct always at all times or since that's probably not realistic for you... I suppose you could just listen to those who do know instead of JAQing off.
