No, it's pretty apt to call the current craze of AI similar to NFTs.

It's really not. NFTs never really served any functional purpose. They were mostly a speculative financial instrument, that's it.

AI is already changing how people work and industries function, and we're only getting started. It's a transformative technology more akin to the invention of the internet or smartphone.

I work on one of the biggest AI products in the world, not at one of the foundation model companies, but one of the biggest and most prominent AI-powered development environments on the market. I can tell you this first hand: AI and GenAI are nothing like NFTs. Anyone that holds this belief is doing so out of ignorance and cynicism. I see our growing client list every day — you're gonna be hard pressed to find a digital product anywhere that wasn't created with the help of AI productivity tools. We're already mostly there today, and the rate of adoption is only accelerating.

Why are anti-AI people some of the most obnoxious people on the planet? They'll act morally superior while gatekeeping creativity, dismissing anyone who finds these tools useful as either evil or stupid, all while recycling the same tired arguments that were used against every technological advancement in art history from photography to synthesizers.
