There's a lot more in the interview, for example, how the stuff gets popular on social media fundamentally shapes what our politicians look like, if more extremist content is what gets views then is it any surprise that our politics have gotten more extremist, and also how it has screwed with how news works, everyone has to engage in clickbait and all sorts of other nonsense to get anyone to pay attention, moving us away from actual news and toward bullshit. Basically, even if you try and detach our society is so centered around these platforms that you still can't get away from them.
