Guys I'm starting to think Treasure Planet was inspired by Treasure Island. The thing that tipped me off was when the director said "Treasure Planet is inspired by Treasure Island."

NOTE: I AM STRICTLY TALKING GANEPLAY/THEME/VIBE, THIS STORY IS NOT EVEN IN THE SAME UNIVERSE AS NIER: AUTOMATA
I went into SB not expecting much, as whenever I see the game there isn't much talk on the actual gameplay. So I was quite surprised that while playing it, the title wears a lot of its Nier: Automata inspiration on its sleeve.
Before I get "Guy who has only played N:A, I'm seeing a lot of N:A similarities here" type posts. I think the fact there's a Nier collab as well just adds and highlights the gameplay similarities.
You have aspects such as
- Open "Zones" where you can complete side missions
- Post Apocalyptic Setting where humans are still around but barely
- Completing quests for said humans
- "Android/Android-like" main character
- Strong use of music (especially with lyrics) to set vibes during exploration
- Floating Robot Companion
- Some more stuff I'm probably forgetting
About the only thing it doesn't outright have compared to Nier: A is the addition of bullet hell like elements. Though I imagine such an addition might be been the bit that tipped people over lol.
As I said prior, this thread isn't me saying this title is as good as Nier: Automata. It's just me being surprised how similar the two are in various ways, especially with the costumes. So much so that screenshots of the Nier DLC could honestly be used to fake Nier A2 being a thing. Like with just a bit of retooling, this easily could've been a Nier:A spin-off (With the story being the weakest link and it's pretty uninteresting. Basically only offering enough to keep you moving forward).
When the director said it inspired him, he really meant it.
Another Stellar Blade ragebait thread, where OP pretends to play stupid about the game's obvious Nier Automata inspiration that everyone has already beaten to the ground like a horse.
Probably to fish out "uninspired gooner chud game" circlejerk responses.
