They only targeted the Zionist ones.
Anyway, the response to this in NSW is:
- further restrict law abiding firearms owners through implementing laws that have circumvented usual parliamentary processes like consultation, committee review and common sense
- removing basic legal rights of firearms owners to appeal licencing decisions through the courts
- implementing laws which allow the government to ban peaceful protest and demonstrations without justification
- effectively making Olympic and Paralympic biathlon athletes unable to compete and train in their chosen sport
- making it extremely difficult for anyone to get a start in shooting sports (at which Australia has been very successful at Olympic and international level).
The elephant in the room is the NSW Government and Federal Government doing absolutely nothing to target the extremist islamic preachers in the Wester Sydney ghettos preaching violence and hate or to deal with the fact we have clearly been ineffective at scanning for these people as part of our immigration processes. That is in the too hard basket. The Federal Government is also resisting the call to form a Royal Commission to examine the failings that led to this occurring.
The fact remains that this was a massive failure of intelligence services and the NSW Police firearms licencing branch but, as usual, it's the law-abiding people who pay the price.
Regardless of whether we have a Royal Commission, there will definitely be a Coroner's inquiry which will make for some super interesting reading when they delve into the firearms licencing and intelligence sharing failures which allowed the father to obtain a firearms licence in 2023 after his son was investigated for links to convicted terrorists in 2019. I'm sure the recommendations will be to further punish law-abiding firearms owners rather than address the government failures, but whatever...
